The I-One Molecular Imaging Center, affiliated with Wadi Jeddah Company—the investment arm of King Abdulaziz University—launched the PET/MRI (Positron Emission Tomography/Magnetic Resonance Imaging) service on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Park Hyatt Hotel.
The launch was attended by Dr. Tareef bin Yousuf Alaama, President of the University; Dr. Hani Jokhdar, Deputy Minister of Health for Public Health; Dr. Faisal Al-Dahmashi, Assistant Deputy Minister for Hospital Services; Dr. Mishal Al-Sayali, Director of Health Affairs in Jeddah; Dr. Hatim Al-Omari, CEO of the Makkah Health Cluster; Dr. Amro Al-Hibshi, CEO of the First Jeddah Health Cluster; along with a number of business figures interested in the medical sector.
This PET/MRI system is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia, combining MRI with positron emission tomography to diagnose and detect Alzheimer’s disease, tumors, heart diseases, neurological conditions, and brain disorders with high clarity and precision.

Dr. Sattam Lingawi, CEO of Wadi Jeddah Company—the investment arm of King Abdulaziz University—stated that this launch represents a qualitative leap in diagnosing and treating cancer, brain, neurological, Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, cardiac, and certain bone diseases. He pointed out that since its establishment in 2010, Wadi Jeddah, a knowledge-based investment company, has been keen to implement several key projects in this field, most notably the I-One Molecular Imaging Center. The center represents a strategic partnership between Wadi Jeddah and Sigala Healthcare Services, through the transfer and localization of knowledge.
Dr. Lingawi added that this achievement confirms the Kingdom’s pioneering role in caring for the elderly, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to deliver top-tier healthcare services and improve quality of life.
This achievement is also part of Wadi Jeddah’s continuous efforts—as the investment arm of King Abdulaziz University—to keep pace with the Kingdom’s healthcare transformation initiatives and enhance community health and quality of life, in line with Vision 2030.
